Can any of the experts weigh in on this: Argus Battery Bug BB-DCM12-150 or the similar companion items.

They somehow claim to measure and monitor a battery's capacity, health, etc., and cost substantially less than a LinkLite. Seeing as I *might* dry camp once over a summer, I can't readily justify the cost of a LinkLite. I looked at the Doc Wattson (no longer available), the Watts Up only goes up to 65 AH. This device, on the other hand, seems to not only monitor capacity, it seems like recharging the battery won't mess up the readings--it'll recognize the added charge and update accordingly--unlike Watts Up.
LED upgrades are almost a certainty for me; this would be a nice-to-have item, would certainly make me feel more comfortable unplugging. Then again, we already have 4 trips scheduled this summer, and they're all electric, so I may not even need this this year anyway.
So, does this look like a possibility, or a gimmick?
