Default walking on the roof?

OK-bonehead question #2...

I want to cleanup the seal around the roof vent & air conditioner (a bit of a leak). Front shell seems in good condition for a 2002. But it appears that 2002 was the last of the wood frames, so I want to take care of the leak as soon as possible

Is it a safe assumption that I can climb on the roof with no problem? Maybe I should put a piece of plywood up there first to distribute my wt?? (I'm about 200 lbs)

thanks!

I cut a couple pieces of plywood that fit nicely on the roof, then use them for routine maintenence. They work great, and distribute my weight really well. I never damaged the roof this way!

Plywood is a good idea, especially watch the knees, they can put a lot of pressure in a small area.

I glued ( not stapled) a piece of carpet to the bottom of a 3x3 piece of plywood to use to distribute my weight. As said above watch knees and palms.

Several years ago when I had an A/C put on my truck camper, the installer had two long pieces of plywood about 30" wide. He had attached green indoor/outdoor carpet to one side to protect the rv roofs.

Not a safe assumption! It can be done, as others have mentioned, but remember that the TM is relatively fragile due to it's light weight. Exercise care up there and you will be fine.
