I think that as the # of seniors increase and the # of young people decrease, we may see a lot of similar tactics.
It's not like the old days when seniors were a very small minority. IMHO, asking young people, that don't have the advantages that we enjoyed, to pay more so that we can pay less does seem a bit out of whack. It made sense at one time but those times are over.
I don't want my kids & grandkids to have to pay more for goods & services so that we seniors get a break. It just doesn't seem fair. Life is a lot harder these days then when I was growing up.........$50K a year to go to college
.....who'd have ever believed that. Median price of a home $350K
with an average household income of $50K. I was making $40K+ at 25 years old and the median home price was $50K.
We had our chance and we squandered our wealth (and our grandchildren's wealth). I don't see where we deserve any special favors. Just my 2 cents.
