Default Replaced the "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers"

Sadly, I've had the trailer garaged for about six months (tires off the floor) while life got in the way of camping.

However, I pulled it out today, and did a repair that's been on my list for a long time. I replaced the rubber strips that the shells rest on when the trailer is folded down.

The back two were worn fairly evenly, but the front drivers side was a mess. Almost worn through.

I used a strip of rubber I got from Grainger based on a recommendation from the forum. It was the perfect thickness and wide enough to make two parts side by side.

I ended up with enough to do four trailers, so if anyone in the Houston area wants to do this replacement, let me know. The stuff wasn't cheap and there's way more left than I can use.

Bill, I would love to buy enough material to replacle the four on my 2006 TM. I live in Western Massachusetts but would be glad to pay you for the material and shipping. I called TrailManor last month and they told me it would be a while before they could ship parts. Please email me at [email protected] if you can help me out.

Last spring we made replacement bumpers from blown tire pieces I picked up from the highway. Cut to shape with a hacksaw and then drilled holes in them to mount to the trailer. They work great and were free!

Ours were worn also, and we ordered from TM. Cost was $8 each plus shipping. This spring DW was at Rural King and found sheet rubber for $8 per foot. The sheet was something like 48" wide. I cut the size of the bumpers and they have stood up for the season. The thickness was not at thick as the original, but we have enough to replace each year for the next 10 years.

We bought a 6x6 block 1/2" thick from amazon and cut with a razor knife. It is almost the same thickness and softness. It is about $12 now for the block.

"SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) Sheet, 60 Shore A, Black, Smooth Finish, No Backing, 1/2" Thickness, 6" Width, 6" Length"

^ There is also a 15% off coupon for that rubber block on Amazon.
