Freezer Door Issues
I have the Dometic 3 way fridge. The freezer door no longer stays shut I have to duct tape the door shut. What would I have to do to remedy the situation?

Your spring closer slipped. take it off and you will see the problem, and how to fix it.

I don't see the spring closer
I looked at the freezer door and I don't see any thing that would keep the door closed perhaps the mechanism broke and flew off. so I don't know what it would look like. note I know this post is a few months old but I just now opened the TM because of rhe weather.

You can not see the spring until you remove the door.

Unfortunately, it may be broken. I'm trying to dredge up a memory I wanted to forget. Seems to me that I opened the freezer door, and put something heavy on it to hold it open. It opened too far, and some plastic part on the freezer door broke - I can't remember what. The fix wasn't hard or expensive, but it did require a new part. Sorry I'm coming up so inadequate on this.

OK got the freezer door off The spring closer sits in a plastic insert, the insert is cracked. I tried gluing the insert but that did not work out. I guess my next move is to contact trailmanor to see if I can purchase the insert. Don't know what else to do.

Trail Manor probably won't be able to help you, though there is no harm in asking. They buy the refrigerator as a unit from Dometic, and simply install it. There is no reason for them to have spare parts. You'll need to get replacement parts from Dometic.
It is like asking the contractor who built your house to replace the light bulbs that burn out.

Im thinking of installing a magnetic latch for this freezer door. Has anyone tried this?

No but sounds like a good idea.
My "spring" is weak so I will have to replace as well.
Or do something else.
