New England Road Trip

SInce we have been to Santa Fe the last two years in a row , we are thinking of taking a New England road trip this year. I would appreciate any suggestions as to must see's and iteneraries. The DW only gets a week for vacation, so we would leave on a Friday Morning and return the following weekend.
