Default General caulking on body panels?

Are the bottom edges of the side body panels supposed to be caulked? Or are they intentionally left uncaulked to allow any water that gets into the panel to drain? For example, on the rear curb side of my 3124KB here is the bed latch and the bottom edge of the upper panel is not caulked:

Mine are not caulked. Maybe someone else can expand on why they are not caulked.

I am going to assume...since I don't have a clue...that when it is assembled there is butyl tape applied before the trim is attached. On my TM...one of the previous owners was having a torrid affair with silicone...the mess is everywhere. Including smeared down those seams.

HOpefully someone can respond as what is hidden under there!

Mine had some caulk, but over time it’s come off. It wasn’t a lot and it was clear. Your’s May have just come off with time and normal wear.

The body panels of my ‘08 3124KB were not caulked. Never been a source of leak or water damage either. Recommend spraying it out when you wash the trailer with only city water pressure level. Do not recommend using a high pressure sprayer on the TM.
