Default Anyone visit Carrizo Plain?

Has anyone here visited Carrizo Plain National Monument? We're thinking of going there this weekend, as it's smokin' hot in the summer, but frankly, I'm having difficulty getting excited after looking at some of the pictures. Zero trees, vast open land with no geography....looks like we might see some pronghorn sheep though, which would be nice, and we could camp outside of the 2 campgrounds.

But I'm still curious. Anyone have any feedback?

Thanks,
Dave
