We just pulled out of KC, heading for Rocheport MO. Camping in the TM at a good friend's house out in the boonies. We'll have electricity & a pool, & like one and a half minutes of totality!! Super excited to share this experience with our newly minted 2 year old & a big group of old friends. Now go away clouds!!

Well??? How was your eclipse experience?

Our's was awesome in Sweetwater TN. Light puffy clouds that vanished with about 1/2 hour to good. The sun was never obscured.

Default Our eclipse viewing was fair ...

... since we were only able to get glimpses of about 1/3 and 2/3 coverage. We were at Indian Cave State Park, NE which, like many locations in NE and surrounding states, had significant cloud cover. Enjoyed the wonder of nighttime in the afternoon with a 360 degree sunset. Birds stopped chirping.

We also enjoyed our first ever member meet & greet -- Mr. & Mrs. Funnypuns (aka Tim & Michelle) and their son James who were at another camping area in the same park.

The best part was sharing the experience with my DW, three of my five children and 5 grandkids.

We're all looking forward to a better view in 2024!

PS: Not a cloud in the sky a day later!

When watching an eclipse on a cloudy day , patience is called for. Totality wS a list cause, but as Bruce said, the 360 degree sunset was really nice. But half an hour later, the 2nd half was magnificent. Got some pix with my telescope.
