Is changing the flat plate to the wheel as easy a job as it is to take off and put the wheel on a manual jack? Thanks. Tim

seems to work fine (stable)...however, when i use the wheel, i do use the lock
mechanisim on the wheel as well as a wheel blockl...to remove the plate (wheel and the four bolts are welded to the plate) is quite easy since i use wing nuts to put on and remove the plate...i think i'm generally going to keep the my
"wheel" attached ,since there is more than adequate ground clearance when the tongue is up...by the way, i did not have to use four bolts...i'm sure three bolts would have been adequate and safe...in addition, you should understand, that i did keep the original barker plate (see my electric tongue jack (wheel addition) entry under modificatios...thanks bill s

Most of the time, you keep the pin pushed in (which opens the switch, and keeps power away from the jack). When you need to run the jack, pull the pin out of the housing - it is captive and hangs on a lanyard, so you won't lose it - and push it back in again when you are done. Most "meddlers" won't know what the device is.

Has any one done this? Will the breakaway switch handle the current of an electric jack?
