Arctic package?
Was there such a thing in a TM?
The guy I got mine from made mention of it, mine is supposed to have it. He claimed ms to have camped in it down to 0*f. And been comfortable doing so.

I know folks in cold country winterize their campers, but I've never heard or read about an arctic package.

I camped in 15 degree temps and was just fine. I didn't have any fresh water on board and the camper was still winterized but all in all it did great.

I don't think I've ever camped that cold, but I remember camping in the 30s in a tent back when my kid was in scouting.
It has gotten into the high 30s a time or 2 while camping in our apache. We usually camp out for the last time of the year in mid October, we go to raccoon lake campground in Indiana during their covered bridge fest.

There is no way you're going to be camping in 0 F temps and have it 70 F inside ("comfortable") without some auxiliary heating. To my knowledge, TM never made an "arctic" package -- I think it would be pretty challenging given all the air gaps/leaks all throughout the unit. It's possible to make it comfy in the winter with numerous modifications and extra heating, but it's a 3-season camper from the factory.

I remember one either reserve or active duty soldier who live in his very modified TM, I want to say Massachusetts. I may have the location completely wrong, but he did get snow and cold temps. Again, it was very modified and it did not move. Since he had to finish his service; which we thank him for. He made sure he and the camper survived those winter days. I believe he sold it to someone on this forum once he retired.
If I errored on what branch of service, forgive me.
I have a healthy respect for my fellow service member, but we are proud of what branch we served in.

Not sure what the previous owner meant by "Arctic Package".
We spent 4-nights in Julian CA with lows of 15* and highs of 30* last winter. We had no problem staying warm with our "Mr Buddy" propane catalytic heater. We set the thermostat on the TM furnace to 65* and it came on for a few minutes. a couple of times in the early morning. We had no issues with the fresh water tank, grey water tank, toilet or plumbing.
One night, the wind got up to 30mph. We did have to fill some air gaps with folded paper towels (no big deal).
We put 'Pool noodles" on each side of the under side of the bed platform, where the bed slides are. There is a 2 to 3" space that benefits greatly with the pool noodles. We also have some of that "Reflex" insulation under our mattress to keep the cold from penetrating through the bed platform to the mattress.
NOW!!!! ........ Having said all that....... I would not recommend leaving the TM open in the snow. If you do, be very careful not to let the snow build up and develop a snow removal plan. TMs don't take kindly to snow-load when opened. In fact, they don't take kindly to heavy snow load at all.
Closing the roofs with snow on them is quite tricky.

We've used out TM in 12*F and were quite compfy with a MR. Buddy and the furnace. And to what Waverly said. Removing snow is a pain

I never said anything that I was ever planning to use this or any camper when it's that cold... but the seller mentioned this several times.... he'd said that the original owner "added lots of options" to this particular camper... from what I see in the binder including the original reciept from when bought new and there's no mention of any add ons besides $188 for a 2nd blue chair.
It does appear though that this may have been a "floor model" of some sort, though and from what I know of from being associated with the car industry most of my life, I know that "demo" or "showroom models" usually have all the bells and whistles available just so any potential customers can see what they "could" get on their own.
I like the concept of a TM, the setup and take down will take a few go rounds to get used to the right order and all the necessary "steps" involved, (I took it down today in my yard for the 1st time since I set it up upon bringing it home) but I'm beginning to wonder if I got screwed on this particular example. I'll be able to use it the roughly once a month or so we typically go camping during the warm months for a while.... couple-few years maybe.... and it does have things my old Apaches didn't (AC, some actual room to move about within, a bigger fridge, actual storage space, and more) and all of the features do in fact work, (the "real" ones that really did come with it) but the rear roof section is definitely gonna need some attention (or a replacement off of another 3023 that is "junk" in some other way) eventually. The front definitely has a dome to it, the rear section don't/ its more obvious now that I have taken it down and am able to actually see the disparity between the front and rear shell halves....and the gaps around the door, etc.
