Default 6,171 mile trip to Grand Canyon

Ret. from 6,171 mile trip from MD to Ut, AZ and back last week. What a trip.Went to wedding in Indy. IN, then on to Moab, UT on Rt 70. 2 nights at Canyonlands campground in Moab (ok). Went to Arches & Canyonlands Nat. Parks. Beautiful. From here on to KOA in Glendale, UT for three nights (great place). Went to Bryce Canyon & Zion Nat. Parks. Just beautiful. From here to Lake Powell (Page). Stayed at Wahweap Campground (great place) 2 nights. Went to see 4 Corners & Monument Valley. Beautiful again. From here to South Rim on Grand Canyon. They wouldn't let people into North Rim until May 15. Stayed at Trailer Village (ok) 3 nights. This was the best. Most Beautiful. Started home from here but did go through Petrified Forest Nat Park. Came home Rt. 40 & 79 to 70. 3023 trailer did great. Only problems were what I caused myself. Nothing serious. We did not have reservations but we were early. Used 427 gallons of gas. in our 1999 Mercury Mt.. 14.1 miles /gal. & gas averaged $2.87/gal. ($3.50 outside of Gr. Can.). Drove 65 on way out & 69 to 70 on way back. We were gone three weeks. Stayed in motels on way out and way back. What a great trip. We recommend if you put Maxx Air vent covers on your vents use nylon nuts on the 8/32 ss screws so they don't come loose while traveling.
