Default Radio antenna not working

I have installed a Panasonic radio in my 2922KD and find that the antena is apparently not working. I receive no AM stations and only very strong FM stations. In fact, if I walk in front of the radio,it will disrupt the signal. I pulled it back out to make sure the antenna is connected (it is) and the red light is on the antenna.
I'm not the most electrically astute guy, but would appreciate help trouble shooting this. Thanks

Mark,

A couple of suggestions: if the red light at the antenna is on that would indicate 12 volt power is present. Remove the antenna connection from the back of the radio and check for power. If you don't see 12 volts, the problem is likely at the connection in the wire bundle along the back side of the front shell support arm. On our unit, there is a coax connection in the wire bundle attached to the back side of the front shell support arm. A few years ago I replaced the powered radio antenna and discovered the cable does not reach all the way to the radio compartment. A powered coax extension cable is used.

See if these photos help in tracing your issue:

Be sure to let us know what you find and whether or not you resolve the problem.

Good luck.

Dick,
Thanks for the photo link. Wow, this looks like a tough fix. Not sure I am up to tearing apart that many things. Might be best to let the dealer handle that.

Be sure the antenna is getting power. The radio/CD player in mine provided the power to the ant.
