It's getting to be the wrong time of year to post this, but we wanted to pass something along. We've found a thermostat that controls an electrical outlet.
DW likes it quiet, very quiet at night. We have a small ceramic heater that works great, but the fan cycles between high and low. We used our oil heater for a while, but found it easy to overheat ourselves with it. It was a turn it up, turn it down situation.
We now have a very light weight floor heater with a fan that I can turn off, but with the thermostat down at floor level, we were still fiddling with it.
We found a Lux WIN100 5-2 Day Programmable Outlet Thermostat on Amazon for <$40 that I plug into the outlet at the refrigerator. We set the thermostat on the heater to maximum and let the WIN100 control the power to the heater. When the temperature hits the desired point it simply shuts the power to the heater off. We let the temperature drop at night and then bring it back up in the morning. Silently. Temperature stays constant throughout the day.
We've used it several trips now and DW is
