Default Not level, where did the water come from?

I was winterizing today for the first time and noticed quite a bit of water on the floor after I did something. It was dry when I started.

I opened the 4 outside valves, the two faucets and the pull handle at the bottom of the thetford. I went outside to check on things and when I came back in the floor was wet. It seemed to be coming from the base of the thetford, but it was clear water.

My TM wasn't level so i wonder if that has something to do with it. We have only used the thetford on one trip and it seemed to mist the floor when we flushed it the 8 times or so we used it. Possibly related?

Sounds like a bad seal between the slide valve on the Thetford and the floor, assuming you had water in the toilet.

Great thought. The previous owner said he had taken out the toliet and then put it back in. Maybe it's not seated properly or some issue with the seal. I was somewhat surprised the water was clear. I was expecting it to be dyed from the toliet chemical, but the seal seems that's the most likely explanation.

The Trail Manor Technical Library has a good How-To article on lifting and replacing the toilet. While it is not a hard process, it is fussy and annoying. The article also points out that if you need a new seal, you cannot buy it at a hardware store or big box store. It is a special size for RV systems, available from RV service places or (of course) Amazon.

Yeah the clear water threw me for a loop too, because there is no fresh water supply to the Thetford. Keep us posted!
