Recommendations for Branson
Gang:
Planning a trip to Branson, Mo. in October, 2009 - would greatly appreciate recommendations for a campground, taking all things into consideration - location, size and spacing of slips, leveling, quietness, price, etc. Will be in a 3023 and would like electricity, water, cable and sewage hook ups. Plan to stay in Branson 4 days, with one day on the road to visit Eureka Springs, Ark.
Thanks,
Skeetman

Hi Skeetman
We live in Oklahoma and make a couple of trips to Branson every year. They have many good parks and Trailer Life seems to be very accurate on their ratings.
We found one that we like, the "Branson Cooper Creek Resort".
If you are wanting one in the middle of the action this is probably NOT the one. However if you want one that is on the water, well maintained, shaded and quiet, then check it out. As I said there are many nice RV parks to pick from.
Here is their web site:

Thanks for the info. Cooper Creek looks good to me. This will be our first trip to Branson. A couple of questions:
1) Is any week in October good for the changing of the leaves?
2) Is it fairly easy (stress free or almost stress free) to get to the shopping/shows/parking of Branson from Cooper Creek?
Many thanks,
Skeetman

The leaves change about that time but can really be difficult to catch on a planned schedule. This park is indeed good, if you can catch them. The problem is the dates vary from year to year. Several web sites track the leaves and could help you when get close to the dates.
One of the things we like about this place is getting around Branson from the back roads. That is a must for you; get the map that shows the new roads that were built for improved access. October slows down a bit over Summer time (kids back in school, etc) but the main road is sometimes a parking lot and that can be stressful.
Check out Branson Landing, it is close to this park.
I'll bet you will get several other posts that have other "favorite" rv parks you can look over.
For example, the Trailmanor Trailblazers group is scheduled at the ABC campground. It is also nice and may be rated a bit higher. We just like the one we mentioned better.
Here is a link to the Trailmanor Trailblazers site, they have some interesting information.

Thanks for the suggestion - already made reservations at America's Best Campground. From my research, it looks like it would be hard to go wrong with many of the campgrounds in Branson. While there, I plan to look over as many as possible for future consideration.
Thanks again,
Skeetman

ABC is where we stayed for the Trailblazers Jubilee (National Club Rally) in Branson last week -- it really is good. Had it not been for the heat and humidity (both 90 plus all week long), we'd have had a GREAT experience -- as it was, it was still a good experience.
