Default Trailmanor body repairs

I'm sure that some of you have had to have your TM's repaired after a mishap.

We were coming home from Yosemite about 3 weeks ago, traveling on a two lane highway about 15 miles from our house. Out of the blue, a car traveling towards us has it's driver side rear wheel come off and it came hurtling into our path.

I would like to know if any of you have had TM body repairs done by other than TM authorized dealers. I'm wondering if after we get the truck repaired we should take it down to Anaheim an have Custom RV do the repairs. The shop that is going to do our truck bodywork said they could repair it but I'm a bit worried that TM's are so different from other trailers that it would be better to take it to Custom RV. Most of the damage is to the passenger side upper shell right front lower corner and the front rock guard.

Thank goodness we didn't take the Prius, I'm not sure if we'd be alive now.

It isn't that bad, just a small part of the corner. I think that they could put a patch over the sheet metal that's bent and piece in the metal trim with new pieces. It actually held up pretty well, considering. Inside there's just a very slight indentation at the very front right corner and it still opens and closes just fine. The fiberglass at the very bottom of the front top shell could be replaced fairly easily. There is a small crease above the front window but it could be filled in and painted.

I thinking that I could email Custom RV some pictures and ask what they think about it.

The truck got the worst of it. We've always planned on using that truck for the rest of our lives, it doesn't have many miles on it. I just want the trailer to be airtight and not leak, and we'll be happy to keep using it for many more years if we can get it to look a little better and seal it up properly.

Sorry about that classic TM - 1997! But glad you are OK.
