theford toilet
Thedford Electra Magic will not flush. Checked both the internal fuse and the TM fuse box, both OK. Any ideas as to what to do next?

I assume you're saying that when you push the rubber button to recirculate the reservoir, nothing happens, no water pumps through? Do you hear the pump make any sound at all? The motor sits on the rear of the toilet ledge covered by a plastic cover. Double check the wires under that cover. Is there anything else in the camper that normally works on 12v that is not working like the overhead lights? The light outside the front door?
The pump operates on 12v. You may want to test it by running a battery charger like you would use if you wanted to boost your car or truck. Hand held type that you plug into a wall socket till it's charged and then use the battery cables or connectors on the pump contacts. If it works you've got a bad connection down the line somewhere. If it doesn't work, the pump is bad.

Shaft
Have you removed the shaft and lubricated it? The clip is carbon steel and corrodes with time

Took it apart today. Pump shaft ok, but motor seized up. Called Thetford, they want $279 for the motor/pump assembly! No longer sell just the motor alone. Was able to free up the motor shaft w/ WD 40. Smeared silicone grease around the shaft and put it back together, works ok now (but for how long?). Poor design, motor exposed to 100% humidity when toilet is in operation, they should have used a sealed motor.

Someone recently removed their Thetford - do a search on toilet seat - because they posted on that thread. Maybe they haven't tossed the rest of the toilet yet, and you can get the motor from theirs?

I replaced my fully functioning Thetford Recirc two seasons ago for a Thetford Curve. I doubt we'll ever go back. If someone really needs the std-equipment Thetford, let me know (via PM) and maybe we can work something out.
