What color are the nuts that attach the propane lines to the tank?
I went to a propane dealer to get a 5-pound propane tank and new pigtails to go from the tanks to the changeover regulator on the TM. The woman there, who seemed knowledgeable but didn't know about the auto-shut-off feature of the QCC1 nuts, was telling me that the black and green plastic nuts that attach the pigtails to the tank are interchangeable. The colors just designate different size fittings on the hose end.
These nuts:
I came home and did a bit of research, and both the Marshall Brass and Bergquist catalogs have black QCC1 nuts that handle a max of 70,000 BTUs, and green nuts that max out at 200,000 BTUs.
My nuts are faded. For those that have later model units, what color are yours? I hope they are green.
Thanks,
Dave

By the way, according to Marshall Brass, here are the details on the "auto shutoff" feature:
The Type I ACME Pigtail features a green nylon nut that swivels on a black bushing which is heat-sensitive. Between 240° F and 300° F the bushing will melt allowing the spring-loaded module in the valve to push the brass nipple back (approximately 1/4") closing the module and stopping the flow of gas from the container. Inside the brass nipple is a flow-limiting device designed to sense excessive gas flow. If an excessive flow is sensed, the flow-limiting device shuts the flow down to a maximum of 10 SCFH. This is also referred to as the by-pass flow.

That is good to hear, because I came home with green also. I didn't want to have green if the OEM spec was black since that would eliminate the shut off protection.
I guess once you consider the heater and water heater, you can get to 70,000 BTU pretty quick, thus the need for the higher output nuts.
