In my opinion, your suggesting 30% less than his asking price? That could be insulting. I may not respond to a suggestion like that either. At some point, the TM does have its bottom value, and the seller feels its $3200. I realize its well over 20 years old, but if the electrical and mechanical components are all in working order, that's the majority of the value. If I had a vehicle that I was selling and asking $10k for, and someone offered less than $7k, I wouldn't bother.

Be more reasonable. Email the seller and find out what he will take for it. Start a conversation with what he wants... If all you have to spend is $2k, that may not get it.
