We camped there for three nights in mid-November. I think you are right about the buffer vegetation - there's not much in shrub sized privacy there, but the overhead trees provide some nice shade for the most part.

We usually stay in the newest section of the CG and can usually find a drive-through site that has plenty of room for a truck in front the TM at least on those sites.

Our only disappointment was that the tram was still not working. Ranger said that all the rain that central FL got last Summer had washed out some of the culverts so the tram couldn't travel the trails.

Everybody has their least=favorite state CG's. Mine is one near Gainesville, FL - it was trashy when we were there. Oh yes, and the county campground near Melbourne, FL where it has sewer connections available, but the hookups must have been designed in a drug-induced haze - just seems .
