We camped for 4 days on a ranch in Prairie City, Oregon, with a Roadtrek group. We had pretty perfect conditions for the entire eclipse, although there were clouds a day before and smoke a day afterward. I viewed the total eclipse through a pair of unfiltered Orion 70x15 binoculars on a pantograph mount. I saw everything: Mercury was clearly visible, solar prominences, etc.
