Just discovered this area of Florida a month ago while at St. George S.P. Just wonderful, and Appalachicola is a gem. Not that over-developed like a lot of Florida. Never had better and cheaper oysters. IIRC Up the Creek had a dozen for $8, and the beer was $2 during happy hour. But there are other restaurants with good oyster and seafood menus as well. (We must have tried most of them.)
Good kayaking in the Appalicola delta area too.
