Light isn't so much of an issue for us.
I made removable valances that can accomodate blackout curtain material. Noise is an issue, though. Rest stops may not be too bad unless there's a rowdy crowd or a semi keeping his engine running for a refridgeration unit.

We stayed in a Kamloops Walmart with then permission. The city was relaxing the rules for overnight parking. because Kamloops was being used to accomodating forest fire evacuees. Noise was an issue though.
