Plates cups etc should be fine, but a fry pan is tough to get food smell out of and may draw mice. Any thing with rechargeable batteries should come out. Find oil of peppermint at an herb shop. Put several drops on cotton balls in a small glass container. Do not get oil on floor or other surfaces. You should replenish in abour 3 months. You might want to remove bedding just in case mice get in anyway as they will use thst for a nest.
