Default Plan on visiting all the Florida State Parks

Living in Florida, we try to visit a different park everytime we go out. We did have a problem at Tomoka State Park with one of the branches from the big oaks came crashing on the dogs pen crushing it. Fortunately dogs were not it the pen. Just be careful where you park under these big oaks. The park rangers indicated that some of the maintenance has been cut back since the economy slowdown. Our favorite park is Gamble Rogers since a few hundred yard north, you can take your dogs on the beach. All the other state parks in Florida do not allow dogs on the beach. Bahia Hondo in the Keys is also special to us, but you need to set up reservations. A really busy park with the snowbirds being here in the winter
.

Finally, one of our favorite places is the Skyway Bridge, just south of Tampa. It is listed as NOP, but we go there quite frequently and spend the night. The State Patrol, Park Ranger, and Rest Area attendants all say stay and enjoy yourself, but just don't cause any problems. The sunsets are gorgeous. Don't go on the fishing pier, but if you park on the southwest access road prior to going to the pier, you will have no problem. It is stated as one of the best kept secrets in Tampa.

Christmas we will be at Hillsborough River State Park and New Years, Fort Clinch (spelling?)
