One of the features of the "conventional" TM is that the final movement of the modules is horizontal and easy to lock in place.

No counter weights or cables. The gear boxes would be hard to get out of sync, unless a coupling came loose on one of the drive shafts.
I assumed the four vertical lift/lower post were raised & lowered with worm gears driven by gear boxes.
If this is true, it should be safe without fear of the roof lowering unexpectedly.
