What kind of grease do you use for this?

How often does it need to be done? I watched a YouTube video that said every 12 months or 12k miles. Does that mean the earlier of 12mo or 12k miles? I only put on 800 miles a year.

Is the zerk a standard on grease guns or is it an adapter you have to buy.?
