Wow, another thread that got by me. Bill, yes, I did inquire to Jimmy Davis about the roof ac thing, and he did say I would have to have my torsion bars replaced at a cost of I think it was $99.00 a piece x 4 = almost $400.00, not including the cost of the ac unit, (another $425.00-$450.00). So far so good with my new side unit and a regular window fan to circulate the cool air forward. (Total cost = $260.00). Jimmy's advice was it was better to simply stick with the side AC in my particular unit.
