Not exactly. The Weather Service measures the temps there in the summer as some of the hottest in the nation at well above 110 degrees. Comparable to Death Valley heat. Not a place to spend time outdoors in the summer. Best time is spring or fall but reservations can be necessary a year out for Spring Break or Holidays. We were there last week and the hotel was full and the camp sites in the NP were all full. 50-60 degree temps is perfect for hiking the NP trails.
