THat is why we chose to purchase the 3124KS with a king size bed. We decided we were too old to climb over in the middle of the night. We sleep with our feet toward the kitchen. THere is plenty of room. We bought a long, slim covered basket (available in Walmart and all bed & bath shops) to hold our glasses and a small battery run clock.
