Pocahontas State Park near Richmond, VA is wonderful and there is lots to do in Richmond and surroundings. The campsites are large and shaded and they have water and electricity. Not sure about 50 amp but they have 30 amp. Day trips to Charlottesville, Jamestown, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg/Busch Gardens would be convenient from there - all 2 hours or less.
