Going into Western Canada we've had to throw away fruit on several occasions, so now we try not to take fruit. We've taken one trip with the TM and were glad we didn't have to open it up either way, but really it wouldn't be as big a deal as when we were tent camping and had them inspect our mini-van (on the way coming back in to the US)
