Gross combined weight rating is the weight the factory allows to include weight of TV, cargo, and passengers plus the towed vehicle loaded.

My Tundra is rated to tow 7200lbs. My TM weighs slightly over 4000lbs. So well within the limit of towing. Now, the combined weight is 10400lbs. That will be the weight of the Tundra, 4000lbs, weight of the trailer, 4000lbs plus passengers, cargo. For me that about 9000-9400lbs. Well within my truck limits.

I assume the factory given combined weight based on brakes, suspension, hitch, strength of frame, tire/wheel sizes, HP, torque, and gear ratio.
