We really enjoyed Scotty's Castle, very interesting. The hike to Natural Bridge was also nice. We didn't have time to explore on foot much, but there is a lot to see there. We also wanted to see Darwin Falls, but never had time. The visitor's center has a lot of information that you may find useful.
Panamint Springs Resort also has hookups, of a sort (I believe they run a generator for their power)
