There are only a few campgrounds on the Parkway, and I think all are 1st come, 1st served. We chose to make reservations at a campground about 3 miles off of the Parkway in Galax, so that we would be assured of overnite accommodations. Through the week the Parkway campgrounds probably have some available sites, but we didn't want to take a chance on a Friday nite.
