hauling 2 bikes

Has anyone used the double rec. hitch such as this, and then hooked up the TM and inserted a bike rack with 2 bikes? If so can you post pics? I did a search but did not find anything new. THANKS

I looked at this, and several other manufacturers versions, and decided that they all had lower weight ratings than I'd like. They might interact with the weight-distributing-hitch as well.

Currently I have the Trailmanor rear hitch receiver waiting to be mounted. This is a really big piece of metal. It will hold two bikes.

I have some thoughts about reinforcing it by coupling it to a second cross member under the trailer, which would help with the torque from the weight of the bikes. I'm good at cutting big iron but not welding it yet.

I understand that, I can weld just enough to make me scared. LOL

My next thought was to install a front hitch on my 4x4 suburban just for the bike rack, any thoughts on that ? thanks

receiver I might add to the front, here is the bike rack I already own: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ilpage_o08_s00

WOW the price of the bike rack went way down, I can say it has been great too, so if anyone needs a rack, I have used it a lot the last 2 yrs.

It works to put bikes on the roof rack, too.

That front hitch looks similar to the rear hitch on the Trailmanor. It has the advantage that you can see what's happening to the bikes, which you won't otherwise do without a rear camera. The disadvantage, of course, is that the bikes will interfere a bit with the driver's visibility.

I have three bikes to hold if the kid (6'2" 15-year-old, serves me right for liking tall girls) comes with us.

I installed the front receiver hitch today for my bike rack.
I gotta say it works great, I did remove the seats and the rear saddle bags we had on them, but those are easy to re-install.

Took it on the highway to see how it feels and the view, and if a highway patrol would pull me over. passed one Highway patrol, he looked but thats about all . it handled the same , and really does not block your view, it does seem weird at first. It is a little scary seeing them rock a bit while in motion , when in the rear it's like out of sight out of mind kinda thing, I got out to chk on them twice as it seemed like they would fall any minute but all was good just a little play in the pin.
