I'm thinking about a trip to Mammoth and wondered if anyone out there had any campground recommendations. Did a search here and a Jellystone turned up with some high marks, but that seemed like it. Anyone have another choices? How about The NPS/state campground?

I put in "Kentucky" and Mammoth Cave and came up with 91, but some are kind of far away. 9 within 20 miles.

The Appalachian TrailBlazers Chapter is going to have a rally in that area Sept 20-22. The rally is at Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, KY. The Campground website is www.cavecountryrv.com.
For details on the rally go to www.tmtrailblazers.org and click on Rallies.

When we visited Mammoth Cave we stayed at a nearby KOA. It was KOA like, fine for a overnight stop. I believe it was this one http://www.koa.com/where/ky/17141/ but it's been a few years and KOAs seem to come and go.

My wife, little minpin, and I stayed at Cave Country RV in April 2007. It is a very nice new RV park, beautiful facilities, but very little vegitation/trees. You won't go wrong staying there. The owners are very accomodating and hard working fellows.
