Just got back from a month long road trip climbing at premier destinations across the western us.
We stayed mostly at full hook up thousand trail resorts with a 30 day free trial membership which was really nice. But i would never pay the kind of money they wanted for a full membership. Its a nice family oriented rv parking lot, but just not my style. We stayed in cottonwood AZ near sedona, las vegas NV, and yosemite lakes right outside the park in CA.
However my favorite spots were boondocking in the national forests and blm land. In the heart of the sequoia national forest lies the rugged Needles, a formation of granite spires in the Sierra mountains. Great spots with outstanding views. Also near Bishop, CA were the buttermilk boulders with free camping. Here is our bishop campsite.

and our view we woke up to every morning.

If your ever near bishop hit up the hot springs, they are great.
