Good luck! We live in Sonoma County but have not camped locally. Healdsberg is a beautiful town. Calistoga and St Helena are great too. The Russian River area has a lot to offer as well. Kind of retro. I saw one listed for the Alexander Valley. That looked interesting. Also check Yountville to see if they have any RV Parks.

As a former Marin County resident, and very frequent visitor of Sonoma, Mendocino & Napa counties (all within a 1 hour drive), the only state park in the Napa Valley is Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, Highway 29/128, Calistoga (707) 942-4575. It is a beautiful park complete with swimming pool... a rarity for California parks.

Like all California State Parks, there are no hook-ups at the camp sites. If you want hook-ups, you'll have to look for private parks. Possibly the fairgrounds in Calistoga will have hook ups, too.

We preferred the Calistoga area rather than Napa city, because it is less congested. Lots to see in the valley, and Calistoga has lots of good restaurants, hot springs, massages, etc.

Enjoy,
