We are the proud new owners of an immaculate '97 2720 ( yeah !) and cannot wait to take her out . Does anyone have any information on campgrounds in the Portland area? This website has been so incredibly helpful to us so far, I thought I'd give it a try ...thanks !!

I highly recommend these books, he also has written one for California. If I have time tonight I'll see if I can find our copy!

Is your TM a regular 2720? If so, we have the exact same year and model.

Yes, our TM is a regular 2720. We bought it this past weekend, and it was looked after very well. It has the green interior - I actually like the inside "decor" a lot better than the new models. Since we have such excellent taste having the same TM's :) .... is there any pointers you could give me on this model and year ? I have read a lot about the wheel wells, but anything else? Thanks for your help with the website - I sure am glad to be part of such a great bunch of helpful TM owners !

Cape Disappointment is a great campground. We went there last year and already have plans to return this year. It's on the Long Beach Penninsula (WA) and isn't too far from Portland. The campsites are like a cul-de-sac and beach access is very close. Here's a link if you want to check it out:

I realize it has been about a 1-1/2 months since you posted this question, but one of the state campgrounds we really enjoy in Oregon is Champoeg SP, just south and west of Wilsonville.

Another one, that my brother said was the "most beautiful park anywhere" is Silver Falls SP east and south of Salem.

Enjoy that "new" TM and the world of camping. Your state has many wonderful campgrounds and they all have hookups, which we don't have in California... that's why we spend a lot of vacation time in Oregon and Washington. ;-)
